CARDIONCOLOGY.ORG ABSTRACT:
Chemotherapy and radiotherapy can increase the risk for cardiovascular complications; hart failure for chemotherapy; risk of premature coronary heart disease (CAD), valvular and pericardial diseases for radiotherapy.
CT is an important screening tool: Coronary Calcium Scoring (CCS) to identify premature and asymptomatic CAD and CT Coronary Artery (CTCA) for identifying CAD, even in acute settings -where the use of invasive angiography can have controindications.
This review contains an update on the use of cardiac CT and its evidence-base in the management of cardio-oncology patients.
