CARDIONCOLOGY.ORG ABSTRACT:
This article discusses the cardiac rehabilitation method, Cardio-Oncology REhabilitation (CORE), an exercise-based multicomponent intervention.
The authors suggest that given the bidirectional relationship between cancer and cardiovascular diseases as well as the cardiotoxic effect of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, CORE may help to counterbalance the negative effect of therapies in cancer patients at high risk for cardiovascular risk. To that end, the authors call for randomized clinical trials to test the impact of CORE.
