CARDIONCOLOGY.ORG ABSTRACT:
This article describes the results from a USA nationwide, randomized, placebo- controlled trial with 25,871 participants comprised of men 50 years of age or older and women 55 years of age or older on the effect of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) on the prevention of cancer and cardiovascular disease.
Results indicated that supplementation with vitamin D was not associated with a lower incidence of invasive cancer or cardiovascular events compared with placebo.
