CARDIONCOLOGY.ORG ABSTRACT:
The aim of this study was to clarify the efficacy and safety of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) as alternatives to low-mo- lecular-weight heparin (LMWHs) for the treatment of cancer-associated venous thromboembolism (VTE).
Results from a meta-analysis of 426 articles revealed that DOACs were more effective than LMWHs in the prevention of recurrent VTE. However, they were also associated with a significantly increased risk of major bleeding as well as a trend toward more CRNMB.
