CARDIONCOLOGY.ORG ABSTRACT:
Cardiotoxicity can occur at any point during cancer treatment and varies as a function of type of drug, combination with other drugs, mediastinal radiotherapy, and preexisting conditions.
Cardio-Oncology (C-O) Services must take a multi-disciplinary approach to refine diagnosis, and improve prevention, detection, monitoring, and treatment of cancer patients at risk of cardiotoxicity.
This document from the ESC Cardio-Oncology council proposes the grounds for creating C-O Services in Europe based on expert opinion.
