CARDIONCOLOGY.ORG ABSTRACT:
The nearly 40% decrease of early breast cancer mortality during the last four decades is coincident with a significant elevation in cardiovascular disease (CVD) following breast cancer diagnosis and is a leading cause of death in this population.
This review discusses risks, pathology, mechanisms, and prevention of CVD morbidity and mortality in women with breast cancer.
The article also proposes that it is the balance between risk factors, protection factors that determines the individual risk of CVD morbidity and mortality after diagnosis of early breast cancer.
