CARDIONCOLOGY.ORG ABSTRACT:
This report contains the conclusions from a multidisciplinary guideline panel formed by the American Society of Hematology (ASH) tasked.
The panel provided strong recommendations for managing the treatment and prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in acutely or critically ill, but no routine VTE prophylaxis in long-term care patients or outpatients with minor VTE risk factors. F
inally, graduated compression stockings or low-molecular-weight heparin was recommended for long- distance travelers only if they are at high risk for VTE.
